The Lake of Liminality

A gathering place for the Betwixt & Between

You can be sure you're in a liminal space when...

you're no longer who you once were, and yet, not quite yet who you are becoming.

you're not where you were, and at the same time, have not yet arrived where you are going.

you find yourself amidst shifting relationships and family dynamics, careers and businesses, identities and ideologies, creative projects and/or geographical locations.

Hanging out smack dab in the in-between is a very uncomfortable and vulnerable place to be, there’s no doubt about it.

That's why we largely try to paddle over liminal spaces as quickly as possible or even skirt around them completely...

however, transitional times are very normal and unavoidable rites of passage, intrinsic to the human experience.

What if instead of fearing and avoiding them, you could honor them as sacred events, process them fully, and celebrate them completely?

You might just find in the depths of the unknown, floating atop the still waters of uncertainty, there are treasure troves of transformation, creativity, and power awaiting you.

You don't have to swim alone...

Like dark hallways and empty parking lots, psychological liminal spaces can also be eery when experienced alone but are not so scary when you’re with others.

Instead of swimming in the dark waters of the unknown alone, what if you could meet up with friends at the Lake of Liminality?

Perhaps we could all dive in and splash around together, like the summer vacations of youth with the sun high in the sky at noontime, and fireflies twinkling around us at dusk

Maybe then, instead of hurrying on by this treasure-full time, you might be inclined to slow down and drink in the gifts that life is offering up to you, here in the in-between.
